Apprenticed at sixteen in Bhopal under his uncle Jangarh Singh Shyam, Bhajju Shyam fused Pardhan Gond cosmological trees, double-headed beasts, and rhythmic nib-infill textures with first-hand visual travelogue—most famously painting London's Underground as an earthworm and Big Ben as a rooster in The London Jungle Book (2004). 1

His canvases and illustrated monographs reside in museum collections across Europe and Asia, recognised with the Ojas Art Award and the Padma Shri (2018). 1
