Archival note & context

Under India's Geographical Indication specification for Kancheepuram Silk, genuine zari must consist of pure silver drawn fine, wound around a dyed silk core, and gilded with 22-carat gold.

Twisted mulberry yarn gives Kanjeevaram textiles their structural weight and heirloom durability across generations.
